Maggie

Maggie, a sweet 13-year-old red smooth dachshund, is a happy little girl with a big personality. Weighing in at 11 pounds, Maggie adores leashed walks, belly rubs, car rides, and being close to her human—whether that means snuggling up at bedtime or sitting nearby for quiet companionship. She’s house-trained, great with other dogs, and thrives on a calm and loving environment. Although she’s not a fan of cats, fireworks, or storms, Maggie’s easygoing and joyful nature makes her a delight to be around.

Maggie came to DARE after her mom passed away and spent seven months in foster care, where her vision began to decline. Despite this, she’s adapted beautifully, relying on another dog in her home to guide her around, even using the dog door with their help. Recently, Maggie went on a trial adoption weekend but made it clear she was already where she belonged—with her foster mom and pack. Maggie is now a cherished Forever Foster, living her best life surrounded by love, comfort, and the companionship she deserves.
