Ninja

Meet Ninja, a sweet and spirited 16-year-old senior who has captured everyone’s heart at DARE. Despite his age, Ninja is surprisingly spry, loves to sleep, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s only got one tooth left and has had jaw and dental surgery in the past, and he has some unique medical needs—including a stage 4 heart murmur and oral-nasal fistulas—that make him unable to be neutered or undergo further oral surgery.

Oral-nasal fistulas are openings from the mouth into the sinuses caused by the loss of teeth, but Ninja manages beautifully and is not in any pain. He is a happy, loving boy who enjoys his days full of snuggles, naps, and affection from his devoted foster family. Ninja is up-to-date on vaccines and worming, and his heartworm test is pending—though he is otherwise thriving!

Because of his medical needs, Ninja is a Forever Foster, which means he will live the rest of his life in the loving care of his DARE foster family. He’s receiving all the veterinary care he needs and, most importantly, is completely spoiled and adored every single day. Ninja proves that even with special needs, a senior dog can live a joyful, happy, and full life surrounded by love.
