2024 Event Details

Each year DARE partners with Florida Wiener Dog Derby to host our annual wiener races at Dox-A-Palooza. But the races aren’t just for dachshunds, dachshund wanna-be’s are also welcome to join the fun!

Race heats are assigned based on sign-up but spaces are limited. Heats you MAY see at Dox-A-Palooza include:

• Dachshund Puppies
• Dachshund Young Adults
• Dachshund Adults
• Dachshund Seniors
• Cart Dogs
• Special Needs Dogs
• Dachshund Mixes
• Other Small Dogs (under 35 lbs)

DARE is proud to partner with SwiftPaws for 2024 Dox-A-Palooza. Ideal for small and large dogs alike, SwiftPaws offers at home systems. But before purchasing, let your pup give it a try at the 2024 Dox-A-Palooza at Keel Farms.

All pups are welcome to participate!

SwiftPaws Home allows you to create the best game of chase ever in your very own backyard. It’s easy to set up and perfect for people with busy schedules who still want to give their pet great healthy exercise while having fun. Pet owners, industry professionals, and most importantly the animals themselves LOVE SwiftPaws.

Common Questions

Q: How much time will my pet have on the course?

A: A single-play session is typically a couple of minutes long. If your pup enjoys the course and would like to participate in additional play sessions, be sure to give your pup plenty of rest in between.

Q: Will I get to be on the course with my pet?

A: Yes! Owners must be on the course with their pup. Once on the course, you will keep your pup leashed until the lure operator instructs you to remove the leash so the play session can begin.

Q: Is the speed adjustable?

A: Yes. The speed can be adjusted to meet the needs and abilities of your pet. Our professional lure course operator will do just that as your pet runs the course at Dox-A-Palooza.

Q: What if my pet trips on the line or grabs the lure?

A: SwiftPaws system is set up to sense if there is a disturbance to the system (ie: your pet steps on the line or grabs the flag) it will automatically cut power when it senses this.

Come dressed in your best! Pups, along with their humans, are encouraged to dress up and strut their stuff. You might even sing a song.

You can dress for the theme of the year or bring your own original theme. We love it all!

All pups are welcome to participate!

Does your pup love to give kisses? Then we have the perfect event for you! The pup that gives their person the most kisses in the set timeframe wins the prize.

EXTREMELY LIMITED OPPORTUNITY!

We will have a professional photographer onsite from 9:30 am – 10:30 am offering professional photos at the photo booth. Spaces can be reserved via our pre-purchase website.

The photo shoot is FREE! Pictures will be available online for purchase after the event. You will also be able to order prints.

Bring your 10×10 tent and lawn chairs. Set up in the Tailgate Zone. And stay for the day’s festivities.

Can’t make it to Dox-A-Palooza but still want to participate?

We will be going live on our Facebook page throughout the day highlighting all the fun festivities!

In addition, you can also participate in a number of this year’s raffles. Purchase your raffle tickets on our pre-purchase website before it closes at the end of the day on October 31st.

Sisimito Food Truck will be onsite in the Keel Farms Backyard. Check out some of the great dishes you can find at the Sisimito Food Truck on Facebook!

Burger21 will be on site serving great burgers, fries, and more.

Final menu is TBD but here is a sampling of what you might see.

The Backyard Bar will be open selling beer and wine from Keel Farms.

And don’t forget to grab your commemorative Dox-A-Palooza wine or beer glass! The Backyard Bar will be happy to fill it for you. All proceeds from the purchase of the Dox-A-Palooza commemorative cup benefit DARE.

Keel Farms Patio and Tasting Room will be open during Dox-A-Palooza. Things can get busy so make sure to make a reservation if you want to eat at the restaurant!

NOTE: Dogs are ONLY allowed on the Patio.
