Each year DARE partners with Florida Wiener Dog Derby to host our annual wiener races at Doxapalooza. But the races aren’t just for dachshunds, dachshund wanna-be’s are also welcome to join the fun!

Race heats are determine based on sign-up but spaces are limited. Heats you MAY see at Doxapalooza include:

• Other Small Dogs (under 35 lbs)

Common Questions

Q: How much time will my pet have on the course?

A: A single-play session is typically a couple of minutes long. If your pup enjoys the course and would like to participate in additional play sessions, be sure to give your pup plenty of rest in between.

Q: Will I get to be on the course with my pet?

A: Yes! Owners must be on the course with their pup. Once on the course, you will keep your pup leashed until the lure operator instructs you to remove the leash so the play session can begin.

Q: Is the speed adjustable?

A: Yes. The speed can be adjusted to meet the needs and abilities of your pet. Our professional lure course operator will do just that as your pet runs the course at Dox-A-Palooza.

Q: What if my pet trips on the line or grabs the lure?

A: SwiftPaw’s system is set up to sense if there is a disturbance to the system (ie: your pet steps on the line or grabs the flag) it will automatically cut power when it senses this. 

Come dressed in your best! Pups, along with their humans, are encouraged to dress up and strut their stuff. You might even sing a song.

You can dress for the theme of the year or bring your own original theme. We love it all!

Does your pup love to give kisses? Then we have the perfect event for you! The pup that gives their person the most kisses in the set timeframe wins.

Sisimito Food Truck will be onsite in the Keel Farms Backyard. Check out some of the great dishes you can find at the Sisimito Food Truck on Facebook!

The Backyard Bar will be open selling beer and wine from Keel Farms.

And don’t forget to grab your commemorative Doxapalooza wine or beer glass! The Backyard Bar will gladly fill it (standard pour) for you. All proceeds from the purchase of the Doxapalooza commemorative cup benefit DARE.

Keel Farms Patio and Tasting Room will be open during Doxapalooza. Things can get busy, so make a reservation if you want to eat at the restaurant!

NOTE: Dogs are ONLY allowed on the Patio.
